Default Running dog

Hi guys,

I'd like to start to take my six month old border collie for runs with me. She is great on the lead when we are walking but the trouble is when I start to break into a run, even a slow jog, she thinks its a game and runs and jumps in front of me instead of running at my side like she would when we are walking.
Has anyone any suggestions?

Don't worry, I'm not going to be dragging her out for 30 mile runs or anything! And we will start with short distances to see how she gets on.

Thanks,

Niall.

you could try keeping a shorter leash so she is next to you and not in front of you.

[I] use a flexi with both of my dogs- when I want them to have freedom to roam I release it- when I want them to walk close by my side I put the lock on- that works very well for me--they run right along without any problems.....
