Unhappy Dogs won't stop peeing and pooping at night or when they are alone.

I have two beautiful dogs. One is a five-year-old Boston Terrier/Chihuahua/Pug mix. My other one is about four months old and is a Maltipoo. We've had my older dog for three years now and from the beginning she has been a wonderful obedient dog, but lately, things have changed. She started going peeing and pooping inside our house during the night. Only during the night. It hasn't happened consistently, but it does happen. Then we got our second dog and we would consistently take both of them out. We realize that our puppy's bladder hasn't matured yet, but we still want to teach her correctly. We decided to buy them a doggie door for them to use which we installed and for a while they would use it. My puppy started to use it without a problem, but my older dog would still go within the house. Then my puppy started to go within the house and my dog would go outside during the night. Now they both go inside the house. My dad is loosing patience and I really want to find a solution so that they can go outside on their own. When we are present they go outside, but when we are not or sleeping they go inside. I don't want my dad to finally decide to give them away so any advice is welcomed. Oh and we haven't changed their food or treats or water. We have moved their beds closer to the doggie door, but other than that, nothing was changed.

Please and thank you.

You need to make sure that before bedtime both dogs get exercised and allowed the change to 'do their business.' If one dog goes #1 or #2 in the house the scent will remain and trigger the other dog to soil the same area. You need to use a product that removes the urine scent (such as Nature's Miracle.)

If all else fails you can try using scented Wee-Wee Pads, they are designed to attract dogs to use them as their 'toilet' and easily turn liquid waste to solid. I would definitely make sure they are getting enough exercise before bed though.
