Default What does this sound like to you???

Hello,
My dog has always been very affecionate and obedient. I used to think she was socialized properly b/c i had diffrent dogs in daycare in my home and we always played with other dogs from the time she was 4 months old and had received all her jabs.

We never went to obedience class but by the time she was 4-5 months she would sit lay come stop wait and leave it and always keep an eye on me following me around outside and in the house.

I met my ex we moved in together and split up. We argued alot and alot about Meatloaf allthough i think he loved her in his own way i caught him teasing her making her growl and laughing at her. This made me furious and i told him to never ever do that and that it wasn´t funny. We split up and he got his own french bulldog called Mimmi.

He couldnt always look after Mimmi and i wen´t along with taking her on when he couldnt. Mimmi and Meatloaf became great friends and would never fight about food nor toys.

One day about 1 1/2 years ago i was out playing fetch with her and a pitbull came running from nowhere off lead stopped and sniffed her stared for a few seconds then bit her to bleed in the face and ear.

6 months after that we were at my good friends house who has a rottweiler pitt bull mix with whom she always has gotten along with but i geuss she was in her territory now and all of a sudden she got angry and bit Meatloaf in the face when she was sitting by my feet.

This being the second time she was bitten i started to think there was something not right with meatloaf since she had been bitten twice in 6 months time. Maybe she stares them down?

Both times we went to the vets and i made sure she was allright physically. Around these vet visits she started to get aggressive towards the people handling her.

We went back to vets to get her jabs for the pet passport and she went crazy biting and screaming peeing on the floor and so on. The nurses there told me i had a problem dog and actually treated me quite mean. This made me think they did not know what they where talking about since she had never shown any real aggression before and i rationalised that she just had had bad experiences at the vets linking that to her attacks.

Every time after that i always have to have her sedated at the vets or they cant help her in any way. She even growls when she is sedated they say.

I had made all my plans to move to the uk and my mother was going to take Meatloaf for a short time while i got situated in the uk but she broke her hip a week before my flight so i let my ex take Meatloaf thinking it wasnt the best but atleast she knew him and mimmi well.

I had studied the rules for the eu passport thinking england was in the eu but as it turned out they have their own rules and it would take 6 months longer before i could bring her here.

My mother took her when she got better and let her do as she wanted, she had her own couch and slept in her bed.

I didnt want her in an airplane cargo hold so i drove to sweden and back to the uk.

I noticed that she didnt listen to me as much and i had to reinforce my commands i also noticed her being more possesive about her ball playing with other dogs and then we met a 16 year old dog who was deaf and blind and she bit him to bleed.

I´ve taken her to the vets yet again and they took some tests and said she was healthy.

I now beleive she is confused as to who is top dog and she also gaurds her space in the couch so i dont let her on furniture anymore nor walk ahead of me at any time and im making her work for everything after reading about the nothing in life is free method.I also dont let anyone take any notice of her except for when she has worked for food. But what more can i do? Is she likely to change after a while of this or? Can i never cuddle her?

The horrible thing is that i have promised to spend christmas with this 16 year old dogs family, the one she bit, and there are 2 more dogs coming and i am scared and not sure i should put her under that stress but now i feel obligated to go and i have met the other dogs before and they also lash out at the 16 year old dog. They are 2 westies who dont seem to get much excersize except a stroll in the garden. I´m scared.

What more training can i do? How do i show her im top dog? Why is she doing this at 5 when she has been so good before?I really just want all the advice and thoughts on this as i can get! What should i do when im in my friends house if she gets aggressive?
