hi, i just got my first apbt and she was doing fine with the backyard, running after me and my 2 year old black lab. she would go to her spot outside and pee and poo. just today, she refuses to come out. every time i tell her to come, she quickly runs towards her crate. once i pick her up and put her on the grass she usually is fine. how can i get her to enjoy going outside???

Hi, first let me say at 6 weeks weeks old she should still be with her mother and the rest of her littler...6 wks is to young for any puppy to be taken away from their mom and litter mates as that's a crucial time for them to be leaarning certain behaviors in relation to other dogs that they learn frm their moms and siblings....

Secondly and the breeder really shoul have told you this, your puppy should not be going outside at all or around other dogs that you do not know until the puppy has had a minimum of two sets of puppy shots...This is because until they've had at least two sets they are not immuned to the diseases and parasites that they can pick up from other dogs and from being outside...

Your puppy is probably afraid to go outside simply because she's so young and it's a new enviorment and new territory to her...

My suggestion would be to start training her to use potty pads until she has her shots and keep in mind that at only 6 weeks don't expect much progress in the potty training because at this age most pups are still with their mom who cleans up after them when they use the bathroom...

I would also consider crate training if you're not doing that yet..
