Default Over excited welcome home

So my dog is always really excited to see me when I get home. She jumps up and down and then tries to jump at my face. She doesn't bite me, but licks and sometimes knocks her face to mine hard. I try to tell her to calm down and make her sit, but she seems just so excited. How do I get her to chill out without raining on her welcome parade? I've felt her hit her teeth to mine and I am afraid that it is hurting her, what do I do?

I make Buster go to another room and lay down when he acts like that.

Don't give any attention to your dog when he does that. Don't say a word, no eye contact. Just act like he isn't there and pet him only after he clams down. After lots of times doing that, you should get a calmer greeting when you walk in the house.

Lunar is exactly right about no attention. One tip to communicate that she isn't getting attention is to fold your arms when she starts jumping and turn to the side. Don't keep turning though because she may interpret that as a game. Just fold your arms and turn to the side once. Then stand there with your arms folded.
