Default Help 3 dogs!!

My family has 3 dogs.. 1st one we had was Rex (part lab and border collie) hes almost one now. My brother bought Thunder (border collie) and hes 5 months.. When Brandon bought Thunder it cause Rex to unlearn everything he knew.. I wanted a dog i could walk so I bought Bosley (border collie) hes almost 3.. They all got along great at the beginning now they dont.. Playing fetch with both older dogs is different they both run after the ball Rex gets it he hardly ever brings it back.. Bos is barking at him even when he has a stick in his mouth,, am alone with them all day.. and Have started to let out Bos and Rex separetly.. Thunder has alot of scared issues.. Hes scared of my brother mom and sister, new people.. he hides in his create or behind dad or I.. They are all create trained.. Bosley is the only one that can walk on a leash.. Rex can but he pulls too much.. I have been trying to work with Thunder since hes so small but he just lays down and it forces me to drag him.. Rex is the most submissive dog of the 3.. if Bos or Thunder comes over to his bone he lets them have it.. Thunder and Bos will fight over the bone.. when I have Bos and Rex outside together its like they try and do this herding thing.. i used to think it was cute around the bushes but now Bosley doesnt allow Rex back on the property without a fight and when they go into this zone calling them does nothing.. They are all obedient of what they know.. I just wish I could have them all back outside again without having them fight or run all over the neighborhood.. any help would help,, dad wants to go to dog obedience but I dont think thats the case.. if not Rex or Bosley is leaving and I dont wanna have to part with one.. Thank you!!

Default Welcome to the forum!

Isn't it worth a shot to go to obedience school and see what happens!? Otherwise you have to give up one of the dogs. In my breeds book it states that Border Collies are highly intelligent and easily obedience trained. But harsh training can make them submissive--Hope this has nothing to do with the way Thunder acts. It also says in my book--They make wonderful pets, especially in homes with energetic children, but can be scrappy with other dogs. Fast and agile, these lively dogs have boundless energy and thrive on hard work and play. They are a delight to see streaking after a ball, or bringing straying sheep back to the fold. They also love to swim. BE AWARE: These dogs must have enough exercise---boredom leads to bad habits.

Okay after absorbing what my breeds book had to 'say'---You have a breed that was bred to herd sheep. It sounds like they are trying to herd each other! They need hard work--hard play. Need a lot of exercise to satisfy their needs--tire them out so they don't get bored and into trouble. I suggest obedience school (Remember highly intelligent and eager to please) They need a 'job' to feel like they are doing something worthwhile and to please you!) They need their minds exercised as well as their bodies. Long walks and if a place for them to run, run! Like to swim--Is there a place they can go for that?! Get them all trained to walk on the leash and take all 3 for these walks. They have to release some of that excess energy!
