Angry The vet said my dog has behavioural problem with pee. Please help.

I would like to say I have adopted all my previous dogs but this time I decided to buy a pure bread black lab. I got him when he was 3 months and he was a purely outside dog, who didn't get much attention from people and therefor has abandonment issues. I only say this cause I think it will help.

Ever since I brought him home he has had to pee every 15 minutes. At first this was normal, considering he was a puppy. But now he is a little over 9 mo. And he can't hold his bladder for more then 15 min. I took him to the vet and after tests she said there was nothing wrong with him. He drinks normally, can hold it in his kennel for hours (about 9/ over night).

If I ignore him he pees on the floor, and is in shame like he didn't mean to. But if he's distracted he will hold it till he gets bored.

Leaving him outside is not an option.

So my question is how do I break him of this problem?

Could you try keeping him right by your side on a leash- have him attached to your waist to leave your hands free? It is unlikely that he will pee when he is so close to you and if it is a behaviour/habit thing it could break it.

I agree. And leave him in his crate a lot more since he doesn't go in there. Freedom to roam should be a privlege, not a right. When he goes outside, let him romp for a little bit and then put him in his crate for an hour and then let him out again.

Then don't ignore him while you're at home and as Lunareclipse suggested, keep him in his crate when you're out or when you can't focus on him.

Poor dog got used to being alone/abandoned, you just have to connect with him in a way that'll tell him you're there for him, that'll change his attitude for sure.
