Perplexing Potty Training! Tips Needed!
On June 6th 2011 I purchased a 15 week old Papillion Puppy [F] Direct from her breeder! While we were at her house I noticed her mom kept mopping the kitchen floor where to pups Bro [same litter] Parents & Older sister were confined! When I asked if she [my puppy] was Paper trained or train to go outside I got NO Answer!
Since I had her she seems to Pee & Poo Where ever! Took weeks using a crate to get her to potty on paper! She acted like it was going to Hurt her!!!
Now to bring you smart folks UTD! Here she is 6 weeks later Peeing where ever even laying on it! Pees when we touch her or talk to her! Now she poos on paper like a pro! IF I put a litterbox in the ex-lg dog crate she Will Pee in it Then Plays in the litter box! Jumps out Poos out side the Box! On her Bed!!
How can I get her to Poo & Only Pee in the litterbox on Paper & Only Play in her Bed area!

You will have to be very proactive - it is not enough to put paper or pads down and hope she will use them. Is it possible for you to take her outside for the toilet? It really is much easier to train outside rather than inside.
If it really is not possible then try and find a contained area that you can make her toilet area. You need to keep a close eye on her at all times - keep her with you all the time so you can read her body language and spot when she is preparing to go to the toilet - usually sniffing and moving round in a small circle.
You need to take her to the toilet at least once an hour from the time you get up in the morning to the time you go to bed. You need to take her after every meal, any time she starts to look distracted when she is playing, every time she wakes up in the night.
On the positive side she is an older pup and should be able to grasp the idea quite quickly. On the negative side she has clearly had no education from her mum and the rest of the litter.
It also sounds as though she is peeing submissively - never reach over the top of her head to greet her, be very calm in all your dealings with her and try to speak in a high pitched, happy voice so that she doesn't see you as a threat.

A breed that small really shouldn't have that large of a crate...When you are trying to crate train a puppy part of that is training them not to go in their crate..Their crate size should only be large enough that she can stand up,turn around and have enough room when she lays down to stretch her legs...Anything larger then that and they will use one end of the crate to potty in and the other to sleep in..
Potty pads are not really a good way to housebreak unless there is absolutely no way they can be taken outside to go...It has a tendency to make dogs think that it's ok to potty inside the house and many will just go anywhere they want to on the floor..
I agree with everything Cig said...Potty training is really about a strict feeding and potty schedule..As Cig said she should be going outside every hour as well as 15-30 minutes after eating or drinking water,as soon as she wakes up and before bed..It also helps to take their water up about 2hr.s before they go to sleep for the night as well as taking them potty right before...This helps to eliminate accidents in the middle of the night..
As for the submissive urination issue an important thing to remember is to not scold them for it..This only makes the situation worse..My Husky used to do the same thing so when I would come home I wouldn't pet her until I let her outside to pee and when we had company since she would get so excited to see them I wouldn't let anyone pet her until she had calmed down to the point that she just went and laid down and as she got older it no longer was an issue.

As said I got her in ex-lg crate so there be room for the Litterbox! As I also said she Does Pee in the litterbox BUT she Jumps into her bed to Poo! When I catch her in the box I praise her & got her a treat. When she poos on her bed I try to put her IN the litterbox! Of course I clean the bed...Start all over again ugh!

Dogs generally will not go to the bathroom where they have to sleep however since her litter box is in there she's already gotten used to and conditioned to go to the bathroom in her crate..dogs also generally do not poop in the same spot that they've peed in and once they've decided on what spot they want to use they will continue to use it...It's also important to remember that it can be very difficult to litter train a puppy even if it's a small breed because unlike cats it's not instinctive to them..
Crates are generally used to keep the puppy/dog contained when left alone and for housebreaking..The fact that dogs almost always will not go potty where they have to sleep is why crate training works so well..That is the reason for getting a crate that only gives them enough room to stand up,turn around and stretch comfortably...By allowing her to go to the bathroom in her crate she gotten use to and comfortable doing that so it doesn't matter to her where in her crate she goes..
As a trainer my best suggestion is that unless it's absolutely impossible start over using a much smaller crate and to start training her to go outside..If she has started pooping on her bed and it doesn't seem to bother her she's going to continue to do so..As I said they usually will not poop in the same area they peed and she has decided her bed is where she wants to go...I personally always discourage litter training as it seldom works and they have a tendency to think it makes it ok to go inside the house as well..
You also need to be sure she is on a feeding schedule as they tend to have to go within a half hour to an after after they eat or drink..Is there a reason why you don't want her going outside?

Dogs won't go to the bathroom where another dogs has gone...The only thing I can suggest is to keep her litter box outside of the crate and put her in a smaller crate...Keep in mind just because something works with one dog does not mean it will work with another..Their personalities are as individual as ours are.

Actually it's just the opposite and exactly what I said..She is allowed to go to the bathroom in her crate and on her bed so therefore she feels it's ok to go anywhere in the house.
