Min pins are small enough to litter box train. Try getting a rubbermaid tote and putting litter in it and see if he goes. I had to do that with a chihuahua I once had because the snow outside was deeper than he was tall and he refused to pee outside. It worked really well. I would cut a hole on one side of the rubbermaid tote if it's too tall for your doggy. I would suggest getting one with tall sides though. Some dogs like to kick the litter out when they are done pottying.

Every 4 hours is to long, you need to take her out more often. When you cant watch her all the time keep her leashed to you so she has no accidents. Take her to the door she will be going out to and then say potty and walk out with her leashed to the yard and say potty, repeat every so often till she goes. When she goes praise with excitement, so she knows this is good behavior, then come back in, do not mix play time in. Do this for weeks or ever how long it takes on a schedule. Once your dog starts going to the door praise and open door saying potty, go out with her doing the say steps. do this till she is going thur the motions on her own. My pin is trained to a doggie door. When we are traveling or at some other place I still take my dog out often, go with him and say potty, and he goes on just that comand. You just have to have a schedule and stick with it.

She has never been on a leash either, The previous owners had her outside..She came inside their basement at night..She has alot of anxiety..Scared of everything..So when my flag moves outside she runs back to the door..I could stay outside for hours and she nevers pees..
