Default gsd owner nreeds advice

We have a 21 month german shepherd bitch. We live in the country and have 3 other dogs. The place we take our dogs to run around now has horses in it.So we have to put the dogs on leads to go into another field. The other dogs are fine about this. at first they were a bit wary but after a couple of times they are exited when the leads come out. However the german shepherd is very scared,to the point she shakes and wont move out of the garden. We have even tried it on her in the garden but she looks terrified. We realise this is new to her as before it was out the gate and into the field for a great run around now she is being restricted in her movements. She is such a loveable dog we need advice on how she can overcome this.

Poor puppy! I was hoping someone would have given you some advice. I know some german shepherds can be skiddish. Did you find a solution that worked yet? I recall taking a particular german shepherd puppy outside for walks and I remember that he would practically walk between my legs because he was so frightened of the whole concept of outside. He did get over it. I just say patience and gradually keep introducing the lead. Maybe train her on a lead inside or in a place where she is comfortable using it, rewarding her for good behaviour on it, then move outside.

You have other dogs right? Well if they are fine with going out then use them to show the puppy that everything is fine.
I don't know how much help that is. I had a dog that I was just consistent with keeping her going out to a short distance until she adjusts. Don't tense or act scared yourself cause your like the alpha and if your scared the pup'll think there is something to fear too. Be confident walk ahead and say "come on" but if she's like having a heart attack. don't continue.
I was suggesting it cause I used it for my dog Sheba and she followed me without another thought.

Also I would invest in something called a "Gentle Lead" try one out and see if it works. I use one and I never go on a walk without one now!
Hope one of those helps!
