Default how long should house breaking actually take?

i have two puppies, both just turning 4 months old. One is a beagle/coonhound cross and the other is a border collie/siberian husky cross. I actually have two other dogs also but i got both of them when they were past the housbreaking stage and this is the first time i have actually had to potty train. I'm not really sure how long it should take to get the task done. We still have the occassional accident durning the day but they are very rare. Its night time that is starting to get a little frustrating. Most of the time there are no accidents but im getting up usually around 4 am to let them out (as long as i hear them!!!). Im also finding that one of them will go to the door and just sit there and not make any noise when he wants out and the other one you just know cause he starts to sniff around and get uncomfortable. I guess i just want to know if this is good for the age they are at or do i need to step up the process. I thought i was doing well but i guess im getting tired of the 4 am thing and a little encouragement may help! :?
