Default Dog Whistles

I was just wandering how you get Dogs to respond to these?

How do you train a dog to return to you with one of these?

Do you need to train them with a whistle from a pup or can you start using it at any age?

Any info would be usefull thanks.

Does anyone use dog whistles then, or knows how to use them?

As I seen a women use one in the park the other day & her dog came straight back to her like a dart.

The high pitch doesnt hurt there ears does it?

I have to admit that I have never used one, but would like to!

I think, as with most things, it is easier to train them to the whistle from being a puppy, but can't see why an older dog shouldn't be trained.

All training is patience, repetition and hard work. But the ones trained to the whistle do seem to be successful.

No, it doesn't hurt their ears.

How on earth do you go about training them with it to come back to you when its blown? Apart from blowing it lol, I havent found any decent guides or documentation which explain it throughly enough.
