Dogs are due to have their days at community swimming pools in what is becoming a summer-ending tradition.

I think more towns or communities should do this for their canine members. I know next summer I plan on buying one of those little kiddie pools, you know the hard plastic kind, and digging a shallow hole in one end of the yard for it. It'll probably be only half buried, though... this way the puppy can still get in it, but I don't have to worry about people not seeing it and accidentally stepping in it. Plus it being half-underground will help keep the water cooler.
