Got to say that I think in the majority of cases that the problems are with the owners and the treatment given to the dog they own. Like humans if we are treated well we respond the same back. If we have been hurt in the past then we can be affected in the future when similar situations pop up.
To change a dogs reaction to a positive takes a great deal of time and care. Unfortunately because they can do a great deal of damage they often are not able to be given the chance. Such a shame as people who mistreat dogs have no idea how that will affect the dog and the new owners when they pass it off onto someone unsuspecting of the problem.
