Thank You. I found this forum while I was searching for risks of gallbladder surgery in a dog. I have a 12 year old tea cup poodle (2.5 pounds) that we recently found out had 2 small "spots" on her gallbladder as well as some tiny stones in her bladder. The doctors think it is a good idea to remove her gallbladder but I am concerned about the risks, especailly since she is so smal. I have read online that the risks during the surgery are higher for mortality. That frightens us. I have talked to her vet (has been taking care of her since she was a pup). She feels like this we should go ahead with the surgery, since Casey is in good health. If anyone out there has gone through this with their little one, please give me some advise or let me know what the outcome was. As you all are animal lovers, I am sure you understand. We want what is best for Casey. Just figuring that out is kind of hard.
