Hi. We have just bought another Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy. We have a very old cav who is almost 11 years old, blind and deaf. The new pup is almost four months old. He is doing well. We go for a walk every morning and afternoon. He is learning potty training and doing ok so far as long as we keep him in his playpen when we can't supervise him closely. He is generally a happy and friendly pup. I am trying to teach him to stay outside. We have a penned off area within our backyard that has a kennel, toys etc. He will go in there happily for about an hour but then becomes really distressed - howling, crying, chewing the fence etc. I have been trying to slowly increase the time he has there because I go back to work full time in a month. I've tried fluffy toys, chew toys, bones and even putting the old dog outside with him. Nothing seems to work. After an hour or so when he gets tired he just loses the plot. Anyone have any suggestions?
