Talking any advice on embarrassing obedience

Hi, my name is Reuben and I live in New Zealand, I have a six month old male shiba-inu called "yoji", we are starting at obedience classes this week and I have a feeling He will be the class clown, He will sit and wait if I have food, but will not come when He is off lead, He has a great nature but He has this funny way of asking "whats in this for me" everytime I call him. I know this is all traits of this breed but any advice would be great.

I have no advise for you but I was curious. I've never heard of this breed before. Do you have a pic of it?

Try giving him treats EVERY time he comes. It's just like every other trick. Just make sure he understands that you mean for him to come when you call. Then start weaning him off of the treats. Hope this helps. Good looking dog btw

When I took Shogun to his 1st (we've been to 3 classes) -- he obeyed his trainer very well! Many times when the trainer wanted to explain a technique, he'd ask for Shogun to show the other dogs what to do. Of course when it was just Shogun and me -- he pretended he was deaf and didn't do one thing he had learned in class. Now that he has gotten older he's listening better (or he figures he's humoring me and does what I ask to get it over)
