Default A worried GSD owner

Me and my husband and 10 yr old son have just adopted a beautiful 3 mth old German Shepard from a filthy rescue centre. He had been bitten whilst there and ended up with an infection, the stress of moving him and this, caused a nasty bout of gastro, he ended up on a drip for three days, and although he has stopped vomiting, the other end is only slightly better... The infection can't be treated until his poo is as it should be. He's been put on a special diet, which he doesn't like, and we have to try to give him this awful medication, which he hates. I hope he can forgive us... He is spoilt with love and cuddles, and the comfy sofa. (Yes, I know we shouldn't but he's a poorly little boy!) We are worried sick... We haven't seen him well yet. He is lathargic and quiet half of the time. He does play, but not for long. We live by the sea and take him for long walks, he loves that. He follows us around everywhere, and loves being held like a baby. But we can see he's struggling, and the TLC isnt enough to get him well again, the vets are doing their best I suppose. Any tips or advice would be welcoming and maybe comforting in this worrying time...

Oh, I do hope you see some improvement in his health soon.

Sounds like you are putting a whole lot of dog care time in for him. He will be worth it when he gets better he will be such a loving pet and be so greatful for your medical attention.

Keep up the good work and you'll have a healthy dog in your house in no time.

Best wishes for his speedy recovery. Good job in animal rescue on your part.
