Default Hello from me and my little dog

Greetings!

I just adopted a little dog. He came with the name Norman. I call him Normie. He's about 3 years old... some kind of boston terrier/border terrier mix. I live in a condo. I'm interested in talking to people who have adopted older dogs (where you have NO IDEA about their past lives).

Sherrie

HI Sherri and Normie!!! I have great respect for those who adopt dogs. There are so many doggies out there that need homes. You are one of a kind. Okay...i did not adopt my baby but I found her. She is a jack russell terrier. She is the love of my life. I do not know were she came from. I put an add in the paper saying that I found her. I got several calls but none from her owner. I feel in love with her and decided the best thing was to keep her. I am so glad we found each other.

Default Hi InstantKarma

Thanks for writing! It sounds like your little dog found YOU. Mine was hit by a car. Recovered quickly but nobody claimed him. He wasn't wearing tags but had been recently groomed so it's quite the mystery. Hard to believe nobody wanted him. I just bought two doggie books today because he's a bit of a juvenile delinquent when it comes to my neighbors and their little doggies. I live in a condo and he seems to be a bit territorial - more so the more he feels at home here. I have to figure out how to make him calm down around the other dogs. Was yours pretty much "good to go" when you got her? Do you know how old she is?

Default Welcome

Adopted dogs are the best! 2 of mine are from the pound and 1 from a rescue.

Default Hi Cinnabar

Yes... they're great! It makes you feel good to know that you're giving the dog a good home. Somtimes, it's frustrating to not know where they came from, who took care of them, etc. And everyone else in my family has shiny new dogs. Compared to theirs, my little Normie is pretty mangy. But that's why I like him. I tell him that people are laughing "with us", not "at us".
