hi im a newy ive got a gorgeous but rather naughty pointer 1 yr old,would love to get some tips from owners!

Hello there and well done on your new friend!!! Name? Colour? etc etc, tell us more...

we have had pointers in this family since I was very small - sadly we just have the one now. We had his dad too, but he died about 5 years ago now.
Hmmm what tips can I give you?
Well, Our pointer is the MOST affectionate creature. Literally, I will go and lie next to him and he puts his arm round me - God, that sounds so stupid...but it's true! He likes to get on our beds and climb under the duvet - he likes being close to us. he doesnt like being alone, and I have read and heard that thisis true of a lot of Pointers. Sometimes I will come home after just popping to the shops and he is barking and howling - it's quite a pathetic wimpering kind of...."come back, come back!" So, I don't think you could leave a one year old alone all day...

Ours were quite naughty as puppies, but did grow up at about 3 years old I'd say.

I'd love another pointer puppy....

well its nice to hear from u. my samba(named because of the way her whole bum moved when she waggles her tail!)is literally a big soft lump!!! she sleeps with us under the blanket of course, literally asks for cuddles and kisses! i actually dont think she realises shes a dog to b quite honest. she loves swimming in the sea ,running round after birds as they do,but is frightened of cats!! she is sooooo intelligent and loving,playfull but does not like to be left alone at all..... we come back to a house of shredded papers ripped up anything she gets her paws on she can chew through literally anything haha but knows her mistakes and runs and hides when we get back home,awww bless . she knows how to make you forgive her . hows yours at home??
