Default Hello, I'm new here

I'm looking for info about breeding my male pit bull. He's 2 years old and I want to make sure it is done responsibly. Any answers would be appreciated, expecially from Jack!!

Hello there! The first question I always ask is "why" do I wanna breed to a specific female? Is there something about "her" "him" that I like? What are their faults? In American Pit Bull Terriers, temperament should ALWAYS come first. I look at the "male" "females" temperaments first. When breeding you want to make sure that they have had all their blood testing done, including a bruc test. Which should be negative, hope this helps! Is your dog registered?

Smile Thanks for your info

When we bought him the papers weren't available due to some "thing" with the owner. I think he was using them to fight, even though we were required to sign a paper stating we would not fight the dog. (Which was never our intention anyway) I just want one of Jack's puppies. I have come to the understanding that after ALOT of reading that we may be in for more than we bargained for. I met an owner down the street who's female is registered but whenever I go by there, she is always chained out front. I don't want to mate him with a dog who's owner is so irresponsible. He's a blue, and I'd really like to breed hm with another blue or blue brindle who has the same sweet temperament that he has. I think I need to do a lot more research on this before I commit to anythingI wish he was capable of showing, because is so beautifully marked. But he is a little slow and his tail is bent on the very end for some reason. Good luck with your shows!

Well I would do alot more research about the breed and breedings before I attempted to breed. If he isnt registered I would considered neuturing him...I ONLY say this because there are SO many pitties in shelters needing good homes. In my opion its really hard to find good homes for an unregistered pup. There are alot of ignorant people out there and we need to do alot more educating with this breed before we lose them completly. One thing as a breeder, I NEVER breed for color...Temperament and health is my number 1 goal. After that its structure. But if there is no way of getting him registered, I would really consider having him nuetured, just because you want a pup doesnt mean that others will. Thanks for the good luck comment on the shows!! I'll be happy to answer anymore questions you might have!
