Hi all, new to this but long time dog owner. I have gotten great advice regarding my car on a similar forum. We only get pound or rescue dogs and have generally been happy. We just had to put down our Border ("borderline personality") collie mix; not too friendly but put up with other dogs. We have a 14 year old happy go lucky lab who is in his waning months. We recently brought home two 9 month old redbone coonhound (hate the breed name, love the dogs) mix dogs from two different Humane Society pounds and are having a blast. The lab doesnt seem to mind them (unless they go for his food bowl and then it is just a brief repremand). The young ones seem to get along fine, doing the usual alpha negotiations in the back yard and digging up a spot in the fenced in back yard. One of them seems to have been abused a little: flinches, needs lots of love, and hates the crate, even with gradual introduction. No bad behaviors though- I think she will be fine. I will check out the various topics on the forum but for now- nice to be here.
