I desperately need help
Hello....this is my first time on this dog forum. I am at my wits end and do not know what to do. I have an almost 7 year old male Bichon named Tyler. About 7 months ago he started peeing in my house. I scolded him, told him he was bad etc. Finally I took him to his Vet. They catherized him and gave him xrays. Well it winds up that he had blood in his urine AND kidney stones. His vet was sure that this was his problem. I scheduled surgery to have the stones removed and everything went well, BUT he is still peeing in my house. Last night he jumped on my bed and just peed on my blankets as he jumped off and on the bed. Does anyone have any ideas as to what I can do? I would really appreciate it.
Thank You

thanks for getting back to me
Tyler's surgery was almost a month ago, March 6th. I guess I was expecting miracles. I will speak to my vet to see if incontinuance is one of the side affects. As far as the scent, I cant tell you how many times I have shampooed my rugs. I have bought every different solution that I could find. It doesn't help that my rugs are dark green and can not notice any stain. I will speak with then vet and will try to put him out more. In the meantime, I may have to leave him in the crate when no one is home, although he has done it when we were home. Thanks for your help.

yes
i totally agree with above post.
if it isnt a physical problem then it sounds stess related.
sometimes they will pee out of being nervous around someone , and let it go uncounsiously.
i would also take him out more and lavish praise on him when he goes.
point to it and praise.
he can tell by your tone of voice- without yelling,
when you are pleased or not.
i am glad he has a good person who loves him -
and not like some who would be cruel at this sort of problem.

Maybe try this for accidents
Since his problem doesn't really sound like disobedience, just so you don't have pee spots on your carpet or your bed, have you tried the diapers like you use for female dogs in heat? It would save you the clean up if there is an accident. Not to be used as a real diaper to just let him pee in it though, I have to clarify, still making sure that he gets out frequently and watch when he get water. Like if you give him some in the AM, make sure he goes out soon after and then if you give hime more in the afternoon, take hime out soon after, and so on. I hope everything turns out all right for you and him!

Doggy diaper
In response to the diaper, do you mean to put one on him and let him pee in it like he is in the process of being potty trained and he would not like a wet diaper?
Thanks for your ideas
