Default Hello..advice..help!

Hey, my name's Renee and I'm the proud owner of a chi-terrier mix named Buddy! I'm happy to have found this site, I have so many concerns and hope someone can relate or give me advice. Buddy's about 14yrs (exact age? he was adopted) and has been having lots of old dog issues.. and I'm not sure what to do. I'm over extended financially and vet visits are never cheap, his quality of life seems to be less of what it was last year this time, as his vision is almost obsolete, arthritis is in full effect and he can no longer seem to control his bowels, though in my arms he seems to be so carefree and relaxed. He is my first dog, besides family pets growing up and I just want to do what is right. He eats well and I give him supplements for his joints and coat as well as a mild pain killer, but seems not to be enough. I don't know how to make the decision of when/if it's time to say goodbye.. and want to do all I can, but my job now keeps me away 10+ hours a day and I'm not there to give him the extra care and attention he needs right now. I feel more stressed latly too as Buddy has been waking me up nightly, leaving messes of feces (I have now confined him to a smaller area of the house while I am gone) but I have to bathe him and his bedding almost daily because of his incontinence. Please Advise. Thank You and Blessings..

Thanks Christin for the words. Buddy has been regressing as of late, I don't think he or I can go on this way, this may be his last week... Such a very difficult time, he's my best friend.. I'm worried I'll feel so lonely without him, but hope I'll recover ok. any advice on this? the transition from having a pet to not...?.. :???:
Peace.
