Smile Hi I'm New From WV

Hello,
I'm from WV-USA. I had been thinking of getting a pet for a while now. All my kids have grown. Actually, my son died almost 1 1/2 years ago, and I have four daughters and 2, going on 3 granddaughters. Everyone told me I needed a pet for company, since I live alone, and my kids don't visit much. I am getting a girl chihuahua puppy, born Dec 31, in a few days. My parents had chihauhaus when I was a little girl, so at that time the main care was up to them of course. I hope I do a good job, as a new pet owner at 48 years old! I may have a lot of questions, hope you all don't mind to help, if you can! Anyway, she is so cute, I can't wait to bring her home!

Default Fellow Wv

Hello, I too am from Wv. Glad to hear you're getting new puppy. I also live alone and children don't visit They live too far away. Recently, my old boy Beebee 17 yrs old passed away quietly of old age. I stayed home from work so he would not die alone. Fortunately, 2 yrs ago I was given a Copper Nose Beagle pup. He now is 2. He has been a great comfort to me with the loss of my beloved friend. Beebee was a gentle giant neighbors called him a majestic giant.. If you did not see him you would not have known I had a dog. He was very gentle kind loyal. He was a very large boy weighing 120 lbs. My pup whose name is Cooper has grieved as well. Beebee mothered my pup keeping him clean just like mommy dog would do. Beebee was a mutt but one of the most beautiful dogs I have ever known or seen. Many wanted one just like him. Although, I am still grieving over the loss of my best friend he will never be forgotten. He lives in my heart. So, you see having a pet I thinks improves your quality of life adds joy. I'm an RN and can relate to being lonely on very rare occasions because I have my sweet pup Cooper. I hope you will find many days of joy happiness with your new little friend.
