Hi, everybody! My name is Michelle, and I am the proud co-parent to a sweet little silky terrier named Josie. My mom (Mary) and I share her, but lately we've been a little concerned about Mom.

See, Mom was always of the 'be nice to animals, but an animal is an animal and people take precedence' persuasion.

But since Josie entered the picture, I've witnessed:

1). Mom talking baby-talk to a dog

2). Mom singing to a dog ("You're my special number one, you're my little honey-bun", to the tune of "California Here I Come")

3). Mom letting a dog up on her bed to sleep (truly amazing!)

4). Mom letting a dog kiss her on the cheek (albeit briefly, and with a slight grimace).

We adopted 7-year-old Josie from the Humane Society last July, so this has been going on for some time now.

The extended family did, however, try to stage an intervention on Easter Sunday, though, when we formed a circle around Josie, looked into her sweet innocent face looking up at us, and demanded, "All right -- who are you, and what have you done with Mary?"

But Josie wouldn't say.
