G'day Dog Lovers!

I'm crazy about horses and ponies and I've been riding for 4 years. I started riding at a new riding school recently and the instructor's Mum breeds Miniture Maltese Xs. My Mum is alergic to dogs, we used to have a labrodour but she got very sick so we gave her away to a loving home. Anyway, she doesn't get alergic to Miniture Maltese Xs because they don't shed hair and for some reason, their salivia (which she is highly alergic to) doesn't make her itchy or anything. So we're getting one and one of their dogs, Bindy just had puppies! She had three, one died, two survived. She isn't a very good mother though, she didn't bite the sack, cut the ubilical cord (sp?) or lick them clean. My riding instructor and her Mum had to do everything and show her how to feed the puppies! Bindy really doesn't like her puppies, she feeds them occasinally and when she goes in there she sits on them, and they have to pull the puppies out from underneath her! Anyway, I have really wanted one for a while now. The puppies were only born last week by the way and I've only seen them once. They are $450.00 each, and my Mum has a hard time getting money together. But my school bank account letter came through today and it changed all my luck. Now I can buy a puppy with the money, as my Mum can easily pitch in the extra $150.00! Its going to be great, I hope nobodys bought the puppy today! Its a little boy by the way and I'm going to call it Drama King, and Drama for short. I'm not an expirienced dog owner though, horses are more my thing, I'm totally into them. But I'm very eager to learn and everything! What will I need and what will I need to do exc. exc? I need to be prepared so all help would be much appricated!
