Default I'm New -- Sooo glad I found you!

I am new to this forum; and I am sooo glad I found you. Can't wait to spend hours on this site! I have always loved animals; especially dogs. I could not imagine my life without one . . . or two. Right now, I have 2 Yorkies, Carley and Terra (10 pounders) . . . and just acquired a wild and crazy Cairn Terrier puppy named Mandy. Mandy and I are in pup obedience classes right now; I must learn how to control all this exuberant intelligence in fur. Does anyone have any information on how to 'strip' a Cairn's hair and what I need to do it with? When should I begin doing it? How often should I do it? etc. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for being here.

Default Thanks MGM

Hmmm, that sounds interesting about the Pin Wirehaired. Yeah, Mandy will probably remain as-is too; maybe I will tidy her up with the horse clippers . . . especially her fuzzy bottom. : )))
Classes have been going well. . . .it will be my fault if she doesn't do well. It's sooo hard to find the time to work with her outside of class. Tonight is graduation night; woo-hooo; I'm soooo glad.
That's sooo funny about the burp/grin; she sounds like a real character. I think dogs have more sense than most people give them credit for.

Default Yeah; too smart!

Yeah, you can see this Cairn thinking too; it's scary! Plus, she's a lot faster than I am when she decides to make a speedy get away. So, I am not always able to correct her for what she knows was wrong . . . but, she did it anyway! Sooo mischievious. I saw her run from the bathroom yesterday with something in her mouth; so I pursued. She immediately ran behind a china closet that is against the wall, then backed out and gave me the look of 'What? I wasn't doing anything.' So, I ignored her; she went back for it; I grabbed the little buger; she had hidden a big hair clamp back there. It's like throwing a 2-year-old in the middle of a geriatric ward; always gotta watch her! Won't be able to write about graduation tomorrow; my sister and I are on our way to Williamsburg! We need a little r & r. . . plus, a shopping-fix.

Thanks; we'll do a little shopping therapy for you too. We're hitting scrapbook stores on the way. . . I am working on Mandy's "Mom, I'm Ready For School!" pages from her obedience classes in the scrapbook; and, I need (want) more dog scrappin' stuff for her pages.
And, we loooove Las Vegas! You definitely live in an area where there is always something exciting going on.
