Exclamation Any breeders who can help

I have 3 dogs, all bitches and all very different temperaments. My oldest is a westie who is 8 years old. My next one is a pom 14 months, who I would like to breed from as she has the most gorgeous nature and is so happy and playful. My youngest is a shi tzu who is only 3 months and very laid back.
I have a question for anyone out there who has knowledge of breeding dogs ; Is it possible for a bitch to have a season without any discharge. My pom was very swollen about 4 months ago and had all the usual signs but the obvious. Hope someone can help.

Hi Helly Thank you so much for your reply and very informative answer. I agree with you that you cannot go into breeding lightly and a few years ago I did have a Yorkie bitch that seemed fine until she had a litter of 6 pups at 2 years old. She developed epilepsy soon after and although I managed her condition okay, at least one of her pups had the same condition.
As for my Pom, I will indeed wait until she is 3 to breed from her, all being well. Her breeder was a very experienced woman who has bred Poms for a long time and I hope she was honest with me as to my Poms line in health. As to my original query, I have had many varied breeds over the years and I have never come accross a bitch in season without any discharge so I was very pleased that you knew as I suspected that they can have dry seasons especially as that was her first. Thanks again
