I found this website today while I was researching homemade dog food recipes.

I live in the metro Atlanta area. DH and I have 3 furkids - a 17 year old beagle / lab mix, a 12 year old lab mix, and a 12 year old Shiba Inu - all rescues.

We used to be a foster home for our local humane society ('94 -'96) and ended up with 9 dogs of our own! They are the loves of my life. We have now lost 4 due to old age, 1 to megaesophagus and just lost our 14 year old schnauzer in February due to hemangiosarcoma. My heart is still broken.

I am simply sickened by what we're finding out is in commercial dog food. We have always fed our dogs Science Diet and thank God! so far SD has not been widely recalled but I'm not taking any chances. We started cooking for our babies today (and frankly, it smells so good we may be fighting for it! :mrgreen: )

Well, they've had their first dinner of chicken "stew". As long as no one gets the runs I think we'll be okay.

We're introducing it a little at a time. But, we have bought our last bag of commercial dog food! I'm not going to worry anymore every time we give them breakfast or dinner that we might be poisoning them.
