Hello everyone. I just wanted to make a quick thread introducing myself. I found this site via the e-prophet known as Google. lol
My name is Matt, and I'm an animal lover. I was raised in a house with dogs always around. My father also trained dogs professionally for a while. Now that I'm older my love for dogs, and animals has grown even more. I currently have 2 dogs, 3 cats, and a lizard who allow me to live with them. My wife and I each have a dog of our own, and the cats are shared for the most part.
My dog is a 2 1/2 year old Doberman. Her name is Blitzen VonPoopsmore (or Blitzen for short). She is my pride and joy. I got her as a young puppy, and have enjoyed every moment spent with her since then. She is obediance trained by me, and does very well on and off a lead. She is spoiled rotten, and is a complete baby.
My wife's dog is an American Bulldog. Her name is Zora. She actually got the dog as a puppy from my father who owned the mother. Zora is a bear with a heart of gold. She was born with bad hips, and underwent hip surgery at a young age. She also had some behavioral issues at a young age. We attributed them to her being in pain from her hips. Since the surgery she has done well in warming up to other people and animals. She's a bit harsh at first, but once warmed up is one of the most loveable dogs I've ever been around.
The dogs, and cats get along well. The American Bulldog has turned into QUITE a mother figure to our two young kittens. I call her the gentle giant. My Dobie is starting to warm up to the kittens. She just gets jealous if I spend too much time playing with the kittens. The dogs get along GREAT together.
We also have a part-time dog. Our ex roommate drops her dog off almost daily. He is the brother to my wife's dog. My wife and I have a nice sized 3/2 on 3/4 of an acre. Totally fenced off with a gate up front. I am 28, and my wife is 29. We have decided not to have children, and share our love with our animals instead.
I'm currently feeling the need to expand our dog family. I'm having a hard time deciding on breed, and size though. Here are a couple pictures of our babies.
