 Hi all, We are new to I love dogs!
Hi all;
We are new to 'I Love Dogs' but not to dogs. We have 2 dogs at this time...Babe, a golden lab/chesapeake cross, 10 years old with almost a constant full mouth grin. She is really a 'babe' and knows it! Jake, black lab/chesapeake cross, 2 years old who is out-sized (110#) and a clown. We don't do much bird hunting but when we do, they really step up! We live in northern MN on 40 acres but have a fenced in yard because they like to 'take trips'. We also have a stagnant pond which causes Jake to get a rash so we have a kiddie pool for him to swim in when we aren't at the lake. Babe won't swim in the pool.
I am concerned about the food we feed our dogs. I have been reading a lot about this and think I will start feeding them home-made food. What do you think? We deer hunt so we thought we could shoot a couple more deer to make organic dog food.
Please reply and give me your opinions. If you are an anti-hunter...just keep it to yourselves, I have been hunting for 40 years!!
