Hello! My name is Ellen and I just joined in the hopes of meeting some fellow dog owners/lovers. My friend belongs to a chinchilla forum (which the people there are so nice, but i feel i dont have much to contribute, seeing as I dont own a chinchilla yet) so i figured that I should see if i could find a forum that has to do with an animal I do own! Which, I have 2 dogs (as well as a cat, and 10 birds and a fish) -we have quite a zoo! I've also been volunteering/working as a veterinary assistant at an animal hospital for the past 7 years now, and I'm working on a biology degree so that i can work animals in a zoo type setting, or something along those lines but anyways, enough about me! - I'll introduce my boys!
first is Woggie (aka- Noodles, and many many nicknames) who is my 12 year old Miniature Dachshund- (you can see him next to my other dog, Duke)



and second is Duke, who is my 4 year old Chow Chow/Golden Retriever/German Shepherd (and we're not sure what else) mix. I found him wandering across a busy street as when he was about 9 months old.. we ran newspaper ads, called shelters, and tried to see if we could find who lost him. but apparently he had been abused, and whoever lost him no longer wanted him, so I adopted him, and he now lives in a home where he and the rest of the critters are spoiled rotten!

So, just a brief little introduction, and hopefully we'll make some new friends here!

I too am a new member. Colin (aka Goodboy)is a 2 1/2 year old Shepherd/Rott Mix who is a real character in my family.:mrgreen: We got him at six weeks old from the Humane Society. I haven't had a dog since I was a kid and now I wonder why I had waited so long to get one. He makes me laugh every day.

Like you I have never tried one of these forums either and thought to make new friends and/or get information on things about my dog. I wish you good luck!!
