I'm new to this site. I've always had big dogs, but when my shelty died my daughter and I got a new yorky-maltese baby...she just arrived this afternoon! Any ideas on house breaking small dogs and how to introduce little one to cats would be appreciated.

Crate train your new little pup. Small dog breeds take a little longer to house break, b/c of being small, so is there bladder. Make sure the crate is small enough that the pup won't mess in it. Just large enough to stand up in and turn around. Any larger and your pup will mess on one end and sleep on the other. With the cats, I would let it happen on it's own. Yorkies are very social and will enjoy the cats, if they will like her/him. Good luck and send a photo when you can.
