I have a jekyl and hyde yorkie
Hi all,
Help!! my little 5 pound Yorkie acts like he is 40 to 50 pounds in that he snarls and shows such viscousness when he doesn't like what is being done to him. Whether it be grooming, bathing, cutting, investigating, etc he acts like he will tear me apart; BUT down't. He attacks the utensil that I am using. I can't seem to break him of this habit. Also, when I reprimand him for not following my orders, he acts the same way. He is otherwise a very loving and cuddly boy. However, if I am holding him and put him down on the floor, I get a nasty growl and disapproval from him. He trained very well and has learned many obedience rules and understands quite a lot of things I say to him. He asks my help, by way of barking for my attentions, when he has trouble retrieving his toys or needs to go 'out', but seems that I am not the alpha person in my household, he wants to be. It is just he and I who live together so no one else is issuing commands to confuse him.
Does anyone have any suggestions to help with this problem or has it occurred to anyone else?
Many thanks
