Talking Hi, I'm from Idaho

hi my name is aimee, i'm 23, i live in moscow, idaho. my dog is kai, we really aren't too sure what he is accept for a 130 lb dog that thinks that he weighs 3 lbs. he is a big baby, my husband and i adopted him from the local pound almost 2 years ago when he was just a puppy. most people find him intimidating until they get to know him, then he just drules on ya.

I have a 5 and half year old 71 pound Siberian Husky who still thinks he's a puppy/lap dog. I know EXACTLY what you mean! Is yours willing to be bathed? Mine definately is not. I have to have my fiance pick him up and put him in the tub. He runs around in circles if we try to bathe him outside with a hose. My fiance also has to tackle him when I brush his back legs and tail. He hates that. Oh and did I mention that we're only 5'3"? Yea, it's a treat.

i know exactly what you mean, fortunately for us he is a good dog and when you take a stern voice with him and tell him to get in there he usually does it. bathing him outside is out of the question cause then ya we are walking in circles to see how quickly it takes me to get tangled in the hose. how old is your husky?

Hi Aimee, warm welcome to the board.

You really have a big baby, how I remember when I play with my grandpa's dog to fall asleep beside him, he's big too and very gentle.

Hi, Aimee, and welcome! I like your comment about how people are intimidated by your dog until they get to know him. I have a little dog, a silky terrier, but I used to dog-sit a couple of dobermans who were as sweet as sweet could be. I used to get such a kick out of walking them, and seeing oncoming people cross to the other side of the street when they saw my charges. If they only knew that the only danger those two dogs posed was death by licking!

Hey there, was without internet for a couple days. I think our husky's a little weary of getting in the tub because 1) he knows what's going to happen and 2) he knows it's slippery and doesn't want to fall. He doesn't even like getting out of the car if there's mud on the ground. As for outside baths, it's exactly the same way with us. Rex tries to find any way to get us wrapped up in either his tie out or the hose to make sure it doesn't happen. He's 5 and a half years old though, to answer your question.
