My Tiny Story
Hi Sue, So I will tell you the story. Over 10 years ago...( can't give away my age...give a few more years)Years ago my servant was told by a police officer that 150 yorkie and maltese dogs were found in a puppy mill run by a woman. The dogs would be released by the Devore Animal Selter for adoption once ready. We were surviving in a very small trailer sitting on the desert floor in the dirt, all windows broken out, we were piled ontop of one another in the Lucern Valley Desert heat. The police man told my servant that there was about a foot and a half of newspaper that was saturated, but we didn't have anyplace to dodo. We survived by eating and drinking our own waist as there was no food. I concider myself one of the lucky ones. Some of my family and friends hind legs and tails were actually eaten off by maggots and I was told they are now in heaven. Most of us survived. Wow the day they let the public in to view us. I couldn't believe it. The line of cars was over a mile long and the newspaper was taking pictures of us. I was in an all girl cage running around in circles, very little circles and shaking like a leaf. I think I weighed 2 1/2 lbs. at that time. I just knew that I would be one of the last to be chosen because I was so fragile and scared and small. I looked like I had mange with all of my rashy skin and missing fur, I looked sick. Then my servant started chasing me around. She had been waiting ouside of the gate since 1 am and was the 3rd person in at 8am. I ran and ran but she got me and held me up and started crying and said , "she's so Tiny". I wouldn't look at her though because I knew what those "people" things could do! She adopted me and put me in a cage and I went strait to the hosiptal in Redlands,CA. Wow, if you look at the good picture of me you can still see some of my fur shaved on my neck from one of my many operations. It took me almost a year of operations, medicine and physical therapy and love before I was strong, would make eye contact and was confident enough to barked for the first time. From that point on I was a people and places magnet and needed to go and do and live a good life. Now that i'm semi-retired I take it a little slower but wow... I have had a great life. More than I ever dreamed. PS I almost forgot...you were in sheltering? Then you are one of those people who helped me...oh my gosh what an honor....look at me Sue...look at what you did....isn't is great to be thanked....THANK YOU SUE THANK YOU because of your hard work and caring I have a great great life. We all thank you.
