as in grooming salon?

what ever it is, if 6 people have no experience I don't think they should be considering opening their own business.

Question

Yes. A Grooming Salon. I currently work at a PetSmart..but it has become all about the money and less about the customers, we have all had and have decided to try and open our own Grooming Salon. One that is welcoming and fun, more one on one. There is a total of 5 of us. We are going to make is like a hair salon..only for dogs. Everyone will rent a Grooming space and be in control of thier own clients and supplies, ect. We will all be self employed basicly. But we are not sure where to start...it's one thing to have a great idea..but to make it a reality is harder. So I am just looking for any advice...both from Pet Owners, Groomers, and Other Grooming Salon Owners....By the way we all have been grooming for a minum of 8 years and some of us have been grooming for nearly 15..we have also nearly all been managers as well...we just don't have experience OWNING a Salon.

you will all need considerable start up money. there will be rent, supplies, advertising, insurance, utilities, etc to get before you can open.

you should really have an attorney set up something for you & that doesn't come cheap. IMO 5 is too many chiefs & no indians & is not healthy or possible.

I believe you can find info on the internet by googling small business assoc

I can help anyone starting a new pet business. We have been helping only people in the pet industry (groomers, walkers, sitters, boarders, etc.) for the last 5 years. Send me a message with your contact information and I'll give you a call to discuss.
