Default Hi! I'm new & have a problem.

Hi! I am a mother of 3 & have a 1 1/2 yr old goldendoodle. First off i have to say he is the best dog I have ever had or met. We get compliments all the time on how good he is for being so young, that said we do have what is becoming a serious problem...

Sorry this going to be long! But i think you need some background...
We chose him because i just couldn't leave a hurt dog. He had a broken leg, then when we took him to the vet he had severe ear infections, mites, worms & other paracites. (the breeders had the puppies in a barn with other farm animals) Anyway he came into health very quickly, even the vet was surprized how fast he recovered. He was so sweet with my little kids, he trained ver easily, But he would get SOOOO excited to see me he would loose bladder control (only me, very odd). so when arriving home i would always greet hom outside. within a couple of months he gained better control then it would happen very sporadically. He even went 6 months with no dribbles. But now over the past month things have been getting worse. He is super emotional (always has been) & the littlest thing will make him drop & wet himself (even just the noise of wind). Yesterday he had wanted out just about every half hour all day. I would let him out, he would sniff the air then come right back & lie against the door. I never once saw him urinate all day, well in the middle of the night he started crying so i went down to see him, he started dribbling then crouched & let loose. It looked & smelled like 2 days worth of extremely concentrated urine. I am very worried about this but have no idea what to do. He has still not asked to go out this morning... I'm afraid of what holding his urine will do to his body. Also i have never heard of a dog holding it? Usually its the other way around right? If anyone has any ideas please write back!!!!!! Thank you!

Hi There princethegoldendoodle, i would suggest getting Prince to your Vet ASAP as it sounds like he may have a Bladder Infection and maybe its rather uncomfortable for him to pass urine.
This is very much a guess as it is nigh on impossible to diagnose without examining any animal.
Please come back and post on the forum the results of the Vets diagnosis Your Vet is the best place for him just to be certain

I agree - emergency - he needs to see the vet immediately.

is he neutered?

you can google submissive/excitment urination for information on his other problem

please keep us posted - good luck
