Im new to being a dog owner and need some help with whats best for my puppy. I have a 6 month old staffy cross who is absolutely full of energy. My problem comes with where to keep her when we're at work. We have a fenced in yard that she has been kept in most of her life however now she has started escaping. The fences are about 1m high but she gets out every time. She digs, climbs and sometimes it seems she just appears on the other side. We have started having to leave her on our closed in verandah of a day (bout 3mx4m), which is also where she sleeps of a night. She has heaps of toys that i rotate and a kong i give her each morning when i leave. She gets walked twice a day and is inside with us when we're home. We would love to leave her in the yard but for her safety cant until we're sure she cant escape. Is it better to leave her on the verandah or should we put her on a run? She doesnt bark or misbehave when we leave but i worry the verandah is too boring for her? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi and welcome.

Can't you make your fence more tough and bigger so she can't get through it? It's dangerous for her outside and could be a threat to others. Since you're not having behavioral problem with your dog, train her to play with the things around her. Sorry for being not so helpful, let's hear more from others.
