Default Dog Breeding

We have two shorthair dogs and this last week we let them breed. The female would only let the male tie with her 2 times - after that she didn't want anything to do with him. Is this normal?

"we let them breed" is not the sign of a responsible experienced breeder.

have they both had the health certifications to be sure you are not passing on heriditary conditions to the litter? been tested for STD's & brucellosis?

when someone has to ask a basic question about breeding, they really are not ready to be doing it. do you not have a mentor?
