Miniature Pinscher are notorious for being difficult to house train. One of the keys to Miniature Pinschers is crate training. If done at an early age this helps to curb the problem you are having. If he does not do this during the day, are you there with him? Also, you may try taking up the water dish an hour or so before he goes to bed.
I should also note that I have a 17 yr old blind one that does this but more for marking so he is able to relocate his bed. In addition, some are prone to lazy bladder where in they are sleeping so soundly that they just do not seem to have the energy to get up and go properly. Crating them helps by creating down time, once they are out they will want to run off pent up energy. By doing this and getting him on a schedule ie: feeding then time out to go should also help.

thanx for the advice.stan was crate trained from being a pup,ive started to lift his water in the evening so hopefully this will help too.I can leave him for quite long periods through the day and he never messes at all,it just seems to be through the night. He gets lots of exercise so im at a total loss as to why he does it!Other than this he is a really good dog.

one thing to note, the crate should just be large enough to turn around and lay down in. Anything larger could be part of the problem. Also, feed him in his crate. This will also help him understand not to go in it.

i agree with yogi... aside from following his advice remember to be consistent when you crate train your dog.

Default stan

I am finding this whole process so frustrating!!!Stan was crate trained from a pup,but i had the same problem then, clean all day till the next morning then i would find he would have had a pee in there. He now has his dog bed he can go all day and there are some days when i am not with him and again he is clean all day goes out for a walk last thing at night but always pees in his bed.He is out 6am every morning!Could this just be a habit he has gotten into as he has proven he can hold his water for long periods of time.Would it help if i let him sleep in my room at night and has anyone got any tips for gettin rid of all the scent on his bed and blankets when im cleaning them.I am consistant with him but am desperate to break this habit thanx
