I am new here and I need help finding information about breeder regulations, laws etc. Also, any help with breeders that won contract issues or owners winning contract issues against a breeder. I love my breeder-so don't get me wrong- but I am concerned about a large scale breeder (10 or more litters a year) and an individual that is breeding and using another breeder's name for an unsanctioned breeding (does that make sense?). any federal regulators, contact names, state (particularly NY and TX) legal contacts- are welcome. My work is pro bono- so anything is welcome. Oh, of most importance, I have 2 Rhodesian Ridgebacks and I would love to be part of this site to talk dog!

check your state & local (zoning) laws for kennel license requirments. state Dept of Ag.

if they are selling puppies wholesale they must have USDA license.

the breeder - what registry are the dogs listed with?

talk to the mgr or cruelty investigator of your local shelter, they will be familiar with most of those issues. of course I mean the a shelter in the area where the problems are. they may already be familiar with some of this
