Default Hi, from Mary !

Hi all, I am the proud mom of 2 American Bulldogs. The male is 4 and our female just turned 1. I was wondering if anyone new anything about food allergies? My female has been chewing her paws and shaking and scratching her ears alot. I have tried changing her food and am now thinking of making it myself. Help!

what exactly what were you feeding & exactly what are you feeding now?

food could definately be the cause of her problems, well, the ingredients in it.

you really need to get the ears under control pronto tho because the more she shakes, the more likely she is to get a hematoma which could wind up needing surgery.

do her ears smell? can you see any gunk down in them?

it sounds like she really has a yeast infection - but could be other things as well.

Hello Mary, suebgone got the point, our neighbor's dog has ear scratchy thing too and there's an infection good thing the dog doesn't needed a surgery. Have your vet take a close look on your girl and ask your vet for safe food for her. My mom has good knowledge on dog's food and she's preparing my Wishbone food.

you should consult a vet so you will know what food or things your dog is allergic of... scratching may also be caused by other factors like ticks and fleas. You can also try allergy relief products if your pet has allergies.

if your pet has an allergy maybe its the food or some flea and tick. try to go to a vet to check what's the real reason.
