Smile Buddha

Hello All:

I am new to all of you and would like to tell you my story. I have four dogs but my main issue is with Buddha a 12 Plus yr old very sweet Lasho Apso
who has developed cushing disease and diabetes.

He had several test for both conditions and with the cushings i had to load him with lysodren until the loading of the pills kicked in and now he is on a once a week pill for now.

In treating his diabtes I was given vestlin but aafter having his curve test yesterday, his doc decided to call in a px for human insulin which I will start tomm at 4 units twice a day.

The problem that I am having is his not wanting to to eat in the mornings and
this is to say that he will eat but prefers to eat in the evening at the same time I feed the other three.

When he was on vestlin the doc said if he would not eat lover his 9units once a day to half but as I said we are now switching to human insulin twice a day.

What do I do if he will not eat in the morning or if he just eats a little bit and his vet said still give him the four units.

I love my Buddha very much like all my dogs and am trying to do the best for him but it is becoming very confusing.

Any help or guidance from you would be most appreciated.

My previous dog doesnt want to eat in the morning too... so instead of splitting his meal 3 times a day... we just made it twice everyday... lunch time and dinner...

I feel sorry for your Buddha. Does a vet recommend vitamins, since he's not taking much food he need let the vitamins fulfill. Hope for recovery and even more happy days for you and Buddha.
