Take your dog to the vet immediately!

Dachsunds are prone to having seizures, which is what this sounds like. It could happen once or twice, or could happen many times throughout their lives. They can live long happy lives, but may need medication to keep it under control.

It's also possible that your dog may have ingested something poisonous. The ASPCA has a toll-free 24-hour emergency poison hotline number you can try. 888-426-4435

Either way, consult a vet immediately.

I agree with DaGracer completely...that dog needs to see a vet right away!

My first thought when reading the symptoms was poisoning, but no matter what it is, I would STRONGLY recommend NOT trying to medicate him with anything until he's seen a vet. In trying to help him you could mask symptoms or make him worse.

You didn't give a lot of details (like how old he is, and what he was doing/eating before he became ill) but this site has a lot of information on what sort of foods/plants etc. are dangerous to dogs (and tiny dogs like yours don't need to have much to be effected). There might be something there that applies and can at least give you a place to start.
Veterinary Information - Toxins that Affect Dogs

Good luck with him...please write back and let us know how he is doing.

In case like that, you should call the vet and say you are coming. Don't waste time to wait for any other symptoms since you dog loosing conscious. Crossing fingers for your dog.

Good Heavens!!! Take the poor pup to the vet right away! It could be a number of things, but one thing is for sure, you aren't going to be able to treat him by yourself without a vets help!!!!! Good luck!
