Default My dog literally runs thru the ENTIRE house...

once I let him back inside from his backyard poop "excursion." Does anyone have a dog that does this?
He literally runs through the door, ignores my call to him to sit, runs all the way up the stairs (two floors).. runs thru each room.. runs back downstairs... circles the large sofa in the basement once or twice.

Then sits there and looks at me with a "Soooo... what did ya think of THAT?!" look.

Any suggestions as to how to keep him from doing this?

He's "only" ten montsh old or so.. Lab mix.. we walk and run him every day.. twice a day.. about 30 -4 mins a day.. crate trained... midday walk.. etc.. hasnt had obedience training yet.. we start Monday

good answer Sue, the number of dogs that do this is hilarious. I have 7 of my 17 that do this. It still cracks me up. They are so proud of themselves and are so excited they just want to run all over the place.

Wow seems like he got more energy in him. Why don't you add some walk time, or have other activities outside or even inside. Try also to play with him on his crate with his toys in his place inside once you've arrived.

I agree that most puppies do this...it is hysterical to watch, but can be frustrating. It is something they will outgrow, but until then, I agree with Sue, try a leash and a brush...and try to keep your sense of humor!
