Exclamation Research on Pet Owners

Hi Fellow Pet Owners,
My name is Zachary Martin and I am a student in the psychology department at Augusta State University in Augusta, Ga. If you wouldn't mind, I am doing a study on pet owners. Go to this link:

Pet Relationships

And fill out my survey. Thanks!

Default reply to question

We will have a better understanding of the human-pet attachment (how humans can actually value their pets over their own species, humans) works and also what humans value most when presented with tough moral decisions (will they save their pet or another human life). There has been a lot of research on moral decisions like this, but they all pit saving one human vs another. We believe that pitting an animal vs a human will go even further into the attachment bond and also the deliberation used to make the decision. Hope that this helps

Let me just say according to the Survey... i think it should have been constructed a little bit differently. I believe that no matter what someone else's answer would be the true decision would be unknown to alot of people. I would always choose a human life 1st. Not saying that i would like that decision... but i would live much better with it.

SiRalex16v,
Though some may choose a human life first, we the researchers believe that having to pick between a stranger and a beloved pet will be a tough decision. I believe there will be many to choose the pet...pets can be like surrogate family members to some.
