My partner and I adopted our dog, Lucky, from a local shelter..She was originally rescued from the streets of Puerto Rico by a group called save a sato (saveasato.org). She was abused, kicked constantly, and lost a leg while she was there. We dont know her full story, so we are writing to the lady down there that felt bad for her and fostered here, until she was ready to be adopted here in the states. Lucky is one and a half years old and loves to cuddle in bed, EAT (lol), going for walks, swimming and going to the ocean, and visits to Meema and Huppas house. She is just getting used to toys, but she still doesnt know what to do with them. Shes a little nervous around older men (we think that was her abuser) and other dogs, but she has made vast improvement and loves her grandparent's cocker, princess. Welcome to the forum! That is so sad about Lucky. She has coped through a lot. That is a good thing that you are taking her for walks and she loves swimming. I sure hope she improves more and more and that she gets better. She is a cutie!
