Hello everyone!
My name is Barbieann and I am a mother to 4...yes 4 wonderful fur babies. I am new to this forum and thought I would introduce myself and my fur kids. I have 3 shih tzu's and a pomeranian.
First comes the oldest. Coco (shih tzu)is between 10-12 years old....maybe older. We don't know for sure. She is a puppymill rescue who was known as #45. When she was rescued she had surgery to remove a tumor from her breast. Then when we adopted this beautiful girl we took her to our vet 2 days after we got her because when I was rubbing her belly one night I found 2 lumps. Well, she had a full mysectomy and $1300 dollars later...she is cancer free.
Next comes Laci. (shih tzu) She also is a puppymill rescue. She is 8 years old and has severe allergies and skin dermatitus. We give her several baths a week to keep it under control. she just recently went blind. We are doing whatever it takes to make her life comfortable with her blindness. I have been searching the internet to learn more about it. We now wear little bells on our shoes so she knows where we are at. We also put bells on the other dogs collar so she knows where they are at and do they don't startle her. We are also trying to find a fountain for her drinking water so she can hear it and find it. We are taking her blindness worse than her. It doesn't seem fair to her. If the blindness weren't enough....she was born with her back legs longer than her front ones. Also her front paws are MUCH larger than her rear paws. But none the less we love these babies no matter what! They now live the high life. I can only imagine what these little sweethearts went thru. Honestly, I try not to think about it.....it makes me sick and really upset at what these heartless people at the puppymills do to these poor fur kids!
Next is our boy Dusty. (Pomeranian)He is our never ending ball of energy. He is 8 years old. We got him from a local shelter on April 21,05. How I remember that date is because 2 days before April 21....we had to put our beloved little girl Kasey 10 years old (a shih tzu-maltese mix) to sleep. She had congestive heart failure and kidney failure.
Just a few days ago we adopted a 4th fur kid. Cassie is her name. I saw her on the internet and couldn't resist her...something said this is your kid. LOL! She is also a shih tzu and she is 8 years old. Her previous owners were moving and didn't want to take her with them...Why I will never know....they planned on letting her run loose but a wonderful neighbor....whom I will refer to as an angel rescued her and took her to the local shelter....what makes this story even worse than it is......the girl is blind.
Well that is our story and I love these fur babies no matter what. I am proud to say that I am their mama. I will have pics uploaded soon!
